H/S Junior, Chances at Colgate.

ANYWAYS, wether or not I even include it in my application is irrelevant. I was not asking if my disorder will effect my chances. I was asking ABOUT my chances.

Anyone????

It is difficult to assess chances without SAT scores. Colgate is reletively selective with about a 1/3 admission rate. If you can get close to 2100 on SAT you have strong chance. Anything over 2000 will give you a good chance in my opinion.

I applied ED with 2270 SATS (800 crit. reading, 800 writing, 670 math), 4.1 gpa and (what i think are) extremely strong EC's. I find out tomorrow, and i'll let you know what happens so you have some kind of point of comparison

WOW. I'm sure you won't have a problem. That'd be great if you could. Good luck.

You shouldn't have a problem getting into Colgate - its acceptance rate is relatively high when compared to other first tier schools, and you seem to be doing fine in school.

Don't mention your ADHD though. I think that there are better things to write about in an application than overcoming something as trivial (no offense) as ADHD; someone mentioned previously (and correctly) that ADHD is, in fact, probably not a disorder. The fact of the matter is that researchers are beginning to group ADHD with Autism Spectrum Disorders (i.e. Autism, Aspergers, etc.), which, contrary to their name, are not actually considered disorders. Comparing the difference in brain function between a person with ADHD and a person without is like comparing the skin color of a white and a black person - they are different, nothing more, nothing less.

Thanks. I haven't been planning to mention it. It was just an aside I put here.

Thanks.

Well, i got in!!!

Congratulations upallnight. You must be really excited.

Gospy is a cocksucker, Artyyy, I have ADHD, and you're right. Before I got accommodations and started taking medication, I was a much weaker student. Extended time on the SAT's wouldn't help anyone who doesn't have a cerebral disorder such as ADHD. actually, it's just a different brain-wiring that almost invariably hinders academic performance. most people with ADHD have normal IQ's, but Gospy, you're an idiot, because you don't realize how frustrating it is to go to school with an unmanaged case of ADHD.

What?!?!?!?!?!? Tom Cruise is posting under the name of Gospy!

gospy

ur a jerk

Haha, this thread is so old and so much has changed since then. First of all, I'm not applying early to Colgate.

where are you applying
