Hi, I'm currently a junior and have not yet taken the ACTs or SATs (I will be taking them in the spring.)
However, based on my GPA and ECs and the like, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much of a reach they think NYU is for me. I would really appreciate it.

GPA: 3.75
-I get all A's except for math and science. I guess you could say these are my weaker subjects. I get a B in science usually, except this year I am getting an A. However I am only in Geometry this year as a junior and I've consistently recieved Cs. Math is a challenge for me. I am not lazy or uncommited, it is just a struggle for me. I am taking two AP courses this year, AP Photography and AP English.
Next year my schedule will have 3 AP classes and 1 honors. I also plan on doubling up on English classes, taking one AP Literature class and one Senior English Elective class. I am extrememly passionate about English. Do you think this could help me out where my math grades are clearly lacking?

SATs/ACTs
-As I said, I have not taken these. I plan to get tutoring because I am not the best test taker, and my math scores will most likely bring my scores down significantly.

Essays
-I think I could write a solid essay. I love writing and am somewhat good at it.

Awards/Honors
-Two awards for poetry (I cannot find my actual certificates at the moment for the specific titles, but they are serious awards)
-Principal's Honor Roll (all years so far)

ECs
-Ballet and jazz dancer for 5 years
-Flute player for 6 years
-Photography for 3 years (big passion of mine)
-Environmental Awareness Club, Gay/Straight Alliance (only 1 year)

Work experience
-Child care
-Catering

I would consider myself a very well rounded, hard-working and determined person. I am just worried that an application will not reflect my dedication to school. I guess I am paranoid that because I don't have a 4.0 and I'm not in AP Calculus, NYU won't consider me.
