Do all high schools rank students? Is there. A specific grade to when it starts or does it depend in the high school?

Not all high schools rank students - my school does. Typically, you aren’t made aware of your rank until Junior year, but if a Freshman or Sophomore pesters the guidance counselor enough, she may give you your rank.

Some schools don’t believe in ranking their students. Those who do rank generally rank based on weighted GPA, I believe. When the ranking begins varies between years.

Not all schools rank students.
Schools that rank generally start doing so when they have enough information to (i.e. the end of freshman year). And obviously a person’s rank can change over time.
My school ranks on unweighted GPA because a weighted GPA is not calculated. This works out well because I go to a relatively low-performing rural school and everyone who cares about school at all takes honors classes. For the most part, people in regular classes aren’t getting As in them. We also don’t have many honors/AP courses.

Ohhhh. Thanks guys. I’m not sure if my high school does though. It’s new and doesn’t have one graduating class yet. Maybe over the course of the next few years they might. Probably not on my gen. Lol, thanks guys :)
