H&SS Chances

So i know CMU is highly selective for its engineering, and my stats definitely are not good enough for that, but I think I may have a shot at H&SS (I'm applying to arts and sciences at other schools to, not just at CMU since it's easier). I know these are annoying, but I am not looking for compliments or support, just some honest answers about if you think I will get in or not. The whole college admission process is pretty nerve-racking to me and I like to have at least an idea if I will get in to the colleges I'm applying to. So please, tell it like it is. Thank you!

Tough course load I guess, not gonna list them all but they're all honors/ AP/ IB except regular calculus this year

Both my parents went to CMU CIT so I have the legacy thing going, don't know if that actually affects my chances here though

Which major will you be applying to within H&SS? At Carnegie Mellon, you’re asked to pick an intended major within the college when you apply.

international relations and politics or global studies. not positive just yet, but if anyone has recommendations let me know.

Yeah, I was gonna guess IR or Global Politics based on your ECs, but wasn’t entirely sure. Well, you look like a good match applicant. Your scores are up to par, and IR is a program which receives fewer applicants than many others at CMU, given its slightly non-traditional setting (IR in a tech school means a lot of information systems/IR/global technology crossover students, and that’s sort of a niche field).

Give your essays your best shot and you should be just fine. Of course it’s always a crap shoot with CMU, but I’ve very rarely seen someone on CC applying to H&SS who had the stats and did not post that they had been accepted later on.
