H/Y/P(enn,lol) chances, Fall 2006

So after taking some advice from people on this board, as well as talking to my advisor and thinking about it in depth, I decided not to apply to Penn for sophomore transfer, b/c I would have better chances next year, and am still highly interested in going. I'm also thinking about applying to Harvard and Yale as well. So I was wondering, in general, what do you think would help make you a competitive applicant to these schools for transfer? I remember seeing someone on this board that had a 3.3 or so GPA and got accepted to harvard, and although I know that you need, in general, a 3.6+ to be competitive, does anyone remember who this was, because I can't remember? Thanks. Here are my stats, and projections of stats for next year:

African American Male
Georgetown University-Georgetown College(might be School of Nursing and Health Studies next year, majoring in International Health(only such undergrad major in the country), and if I don't get into any of these schools or decide to stay, I'd be in a great place)
GPA(as of now)-around a 3.58. Hopefully a 3.6-3.7 by end of next semester.
SAT-1340(680V, 660M)
SAT II- 690 Writing, 630 Math IC, 630 US History
ECs:
Georgetown Symphony Orchestra-Viola
Georgetown Admissions Ambassadors Program-high school visitor, tour guide
Campus Ministry-lector, eucharistic minister
Job:
University Information Services-Student Technician-Hoya Computing, Service Desk, Help Desk-11hrs/wk

I will be receiving EMT certification this summer and will be part of the student EMT service here this fall.

Obviously I'll have more ECs this fall however I'm just looking for general comments about what direction I should be heading in this application process. I definitely would be content staying at Gtown, however for what I'm looking to accomplish, being at Penn, Harvard, or Yale would be better for me. Any help is appreciated.

Pennhopeful, slipper had the 3.3, and I think he transfered back in the mid-to-late 90's, so admissions were a little bit different back then. But I don't see a reason for you not to apply. Plus, your GPA is 3.5 or so if you do well again next semester, it'll be even higher.. If your essays are really good and your ECs are good, I don't understand why you wouldn't at least have a chance. They have low acceptance rates, so I'm not going to say you'll get in because I have no idea. But, I full-heartedly believe that if you want to go somewhere and you can afford to apply... do so.

Your chances are slim for Harvard and Yale, as they are for nearly all applicants since the admit rate is low, but that should not stop you from trying.
