Are there any water fountains around here? IF not, can I drink tap water?

Of course you can drink the tap water- totally safe! (We've been doing it for years and we haven't died yet!)

There should be water fountains near the restrooms in most academic buildings. I think they may be less common in residential halls and apartments.

The tap water is perfectly safe, though many students prefer keeping a Brita pitcher in the fridge for cleaner-tasting water.

Thanks... so can I assume that bathroom water(not the "toilet water") in old dorms is drinkable?

Also is where can I get water from the EVK? I only find where I can get soda which makes me more thirsty.

Yeah, the sink water is quite drinkable. Other students who have been to EVK more recently can hopefully chime in here, but there should be a "water" lever on atleast one of the soda machines that will dispense tap water. Usually its just above the Sprite or lemonade nozzle.

Otherwise, there may be a free-standing spigot thing nearby with a blue lever that gives out plain water.

FWIW-
Just signed up for Sparkletts water delivery to dorm room at New. There is no contract so you can cancel anytime. You put a note on your door on delivery day (every other week) to let the delivery man know what you want that day.

-Hot/Cold water dispenser rents for $8.50 per month. Cold is nice and cold- hot is hot enough for soup.
-5 gallon bottles are $8.50 per bottle. That's equivalent to $.22 for a half liter bottle or $5.28 for a 24 pack.

You can get a 24 pack of water at the grocery store (on sale) for $3.99 to $4.99 but Sparkletts carries it up four flights of stairs!

Then again, tap water is free.
