so right now i am a junior. i have C's in AP Chemistry, AP US history, and AP Physics. The thing is, I had a very troubled first semester and was not focused, but I've talked to my teachers and I'm almost certain that I will get A's second semester. My teachers know my concern and that I will work hard, so I'm sure they could write teacher recs about how I really realized my lack of motivation, and made up for it 2nd semester of junior year.

The only problem is, this may look inconsistent with the rest of my highschool. Freshman year I got 1 C first semester (honors math), and second semester I got 2 C's (Honors classes).

Sophmore year I got all A's and 2 B's both semesters.

So now as a junior if I kick butt and get straight A's 2nd semester, and work really hard senior year..
will colleges look at the C's junior year and really penalize me?
I have a 4.0 on a scale of 4.0 which puts me in the top 10% of my clas, I have a 33 on my ACt, and I have strong extra currics, etc. I could also write strong essays.
Would a school like northwestern fare well with a record like this?

how do you have C's and still have a 4.0?????????..... and yes, if you have a 4.0 and a 33then you should be able to get into Northwestern, given that you have some good Extracurricullars on your transcript.

Maybe the 4.0 is the old GPA, from last semester? Because there's no way it can be a 4.0 now...

Could be a weighted GPA.

yeah its an overall weighted gpa...i don't know my unweighted
my ranking is 85/1200 which technically means im still top 10%

I would say that it is possible, but a row full of C's may be a significant turn-off. And so would typing in 1337 speak.

reject because of dumb title

i agree, Northwestern likes kids who know how to use grammar...
I think the C's will hurt you and your chances, sorry.

that's what I'm saying ^^^
