HA LAC's - Areas of specialization?

I agree, it’s interesting. Now, those individual disciplines represent only a slice of what’s going on at those colleges. Consider Middlebury, whose association with foreign languages seems to be stronger than the association of other fields with most other LACs. Nevertheless, in 2014-15, only 8.5% of Middlebury students are majoring in foreign languages, literatures and linguistics. Wesleyan has acquired a very strong reputation for film studies; yet, only 11.5% of Wesleyan students major in the visual and performing arts. Less than 10% of Williams students major in any of the visual and performing arts, despite its strong reputation for art history. Only about 10% of Kenyon students major in English … although, that’s a much bigger percentage than the ~4% at Carleton.
