Does Haas notify you about whether or not they received your completed Haas Application?

I guess either nobody on college confidential knows the answer or nobody is applying to Haas from college confidential. Anyway, by the end of the week, I will call Haas to verify that they did in fact receive my Haas application.

Hey, i'm in tune with what you are saying as my best friend wont stop talking about it! so i guess he got into the second round of apps and he sent them in, more essays, resume etc. so it looks like its gonna be another month till they give their answers.

btw, what were your stats? he is paranoid as hell.. has a 3.9, got 1 B in a psyc class.

that bit of information gets me concerned, I don't think that I got into haas if that is the case (that they have already sent out the 2nd round of essays and resumes), :/

i haven't gotten anything. when did your friend get his stuff?

yea, if u didnt get anything.. then most likely ur done. got it close to a month ago id say

There is a timeline on the Haas website. My whole entire intrepretation of the calendear was that I was not accepted if they did not ask me to submit the Haas Transfer Application for the second round on March 1. Fortunately for me, I did receive an email on March 1, inviting me to submit essays, a resume, and other forms because I was chosen for further consideration by the Haas admissions committee. Sorry, if that means that you were not accepted. You can view the calendar at: http://www.haas.berkeley.edu/Undergrad/transferappl.html

Anyway, I don't have exceptional stats. But, I believe that I have an edge because I am graduating community college with 116 units at the age of 17. My GPA is 3.73, but I had a 3.82 when I initially submitted my application in November. I have two Cs (Calculus II and Trig) and two Bs (Calculus I and Conversational Italian). I am active member of the student government and honor society. I volunteered at the library, TeenCentral.Net, PTSD Alliance, and more. Also, I wrote for the school paper and other publications (editor-in-chief of the student government newsletter).

I do not have too many awards or special gifts, but I wrote a decent personal statement that emphasized the unique nature of my community college experience. I participated in the UC Berkeley Starting Point Mentorship program, though.

CC2UC, did your friend receive a confirmation that Haas received his Haas Transfer Application?

CC Student, i dunno about hte confirmation.. just know he submitted it. since we are im spring break right now too havnt really discussed that stuff.. i will ask him when i see him tho and see whats up

btw, good luck with ur apps.. 3.83 seems lower than the average but with ur extras and some luck theres a chance

if u dont mind me asking.. what CC do u go to?

Chabot College

Where do you go?

damn, yeah its over for me, but you know it was pretty much what i expected lol

good luck for you guys though! if you get in, you deserve it

im at dvc... does chabot have transfer agreements w/ cal?

I am sorry ichiban. Good luck at the other schools to which you applied. Besides, I probably won't pass the second round anyway...

Chabot does not have transfer agreements with CAL. In fact, I am not aware of any community colleges that have agreements with CAL.

thanks cc student,

don't cut yourself short though, getting through to the second round was quite an impressive feat.

but yeah, again, i didn't expect to get into uc berkeley with my lackluster gpa, but you know what? i'll always have graduate school there to aspire to

im just waiting on la and sb now. got into irvine, davis and cal poly (bus. admin).

Thanks, ichiban. The graduate school aspiration is a good point. That is my back-up as well. Anyway, what is your GPA?

Good luck with LA. I applied there, too, but I think I have even lower chances there than at Berkeley because I am from NorCal and I did the whole entire Berkeley mentorship program with a Haas student as my mentor. Also, my Calculus II grade was a C, and Calc II is a required transfer class for LA.

I checked with Haas about my application. Apparently, Haas only emails you to notify you that your supplement was not received.
