Haas Business Question

Obviously there is no correct answer.

But what do you guys think would be the best (practical, i.e not a White House internship or Olympic Gold Medal) EC for being competitive with Haas?

Also, your 2 cents on things like tutoring (in Econ or Business related subject) or teacher aiding in the same related subjects?

Here are my stats, but its only been 1 semester.
(All UC transferable, Haas breadth/prereqs)

US History (A or B, waiting on grade)
Microeconomics (A)
Macroeconomics (A)
English Writing (A)
Physical Anthropology (A)

Employed since 16 at Starbucks.
Most likely will be a supervisor by application time with Haas. Honor Society next semester.
And that's about it :(

Thoughts?

With grades like that after one semester, you are in!

What CC do you go to?

Pierce?

internships are always good, and active campus involvement would look great too

start your own company. even if you fail in the end, they like to see enterpeneruship

I go to American River.

I have thought about starting like my own blog, and really putting effort into it. I’ve dabbled in that throughout high school. I wonder if that would make any difference? That is, if it becomes one of those successful super blogs (long shot, I know.)

Membership in Campus Clubs, is that going to matter? I mean, just plain old membership not a leadership role?

membership is better thank nothing, but leadership is much better, if you can gt apointed/elected in any clubs, you shuld charter your own club. a Business Club would be good, and if there is already one on campus, JOIN IT, and then charter some other club, doesnt matter what it is, just prove that you can manage it and ull be good

the blog, i dont know, if thatll help, maybe you should try making some other kind of website.

Being a cub scout is very good. The dean of Haas is an eagle scout and looks highly upon all scouting.

Quality, not quantity. thats all I have to say. Show leadership and initiative in whatever you do and do your best. Thats all you can control.
