So, say I hope to enter Haas, and I wish to do a simultaneous degree in applied math as well. In the case that I am rejected from haas, I intend to do a econ/applied math simultaneous degree. How will this work? Does this mean I will have to delay declaring my econ major (although I can declare my applied math major earlier) until after I receive a decision from Haas? Will this affect my ability to take required econ classes in any way? Thanks! :)

Haas and econ prereqs are nearly identical, so you won’t really be behind on that. You find out about Haas admittance about the third week of your spring semester, sophomore year. This will give you time to apply for Econ in the Summer (which has the best admittance rate, just need 3.0+ from what I hear).
