Hello,

Are the haas undergraduate essays the same each year? How many essays are there? Can anyone give insights to the type of questions?

Thank you so much!

just go to the website and look at the most recent app…

the essays aren’t “the same” but they basically ask the same things:
first one will be about choosing one of haas’ 4 defining principles and relating it to your life and your story and the 2nd one will be something creative or overcoming something, etc etc

could you link me to the most recent app? I’m having a hard time finding it
also, what are the word limits?

500 words a pop

Anyone have previous application prompts? :(

There are always two prompts:

1) Culture: “What does [Haas defining principle] mean to you?” There are four defining principles that the committee chooses from: Students Always, Beyond Yourself, Confidence without Attitude and Question the Status Quo.

2) Creative: “Describe yourself using one adjective.” “Turn to page ??? of your autobiography. What does it say?” Very similar to application prompts from University of Chicago.
