Haas: How/why are there so many people that get disqualified

Undergraduate Program - Admissions - Haas School of Business

Looking at the stats from this year, and the year prior, almost 1000 students are rejecting because they "did not show completion of requirements."

My question is, they are laid out very specifically on the assist site and classes even overlap with the IGETC, how does this happen to so many? Are there strict interpretations of classes or what?

I think alot of people just do the IGETC and don't realize it doesn't cover the requirements. I'm sure a decent of people know but apply anyways just in case.

I think it has to do with the fact that before they generally let you decide what classes would fit each breadth requirement, but now they're actually listing what courses fulfill what requirement. I think a lot of those courses that people thought would fulfill the requirement didn't. Just my two cents.

Both posts above are legitate guesses. I too wonder how so many students each year apply without the correct requirments - that should ultimatley be your first priority.
