Hi,

Are there any lower division courses for pre-Haas that I can fulfill over the summer at a community college? If so, which ones?

Thanks in advanced.

No sure about econ?
Economic Principles:
Courses in micro and macro economics.
(Econ 1 or 2 at UCB)
Transfer students may need to take a 2 course sequence to fulfill this requirement

You should try going to assist.org. The website will tell you what kind of credit you can get for the courses offered at a certain community college.

As mentioned, try using assist.org. Everything, except UGBA 10, you may use AP/CC credits to fulfill the Haas prereqs!

[Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) will list what can be used. However, “Once at UC Berkeley, students must take all prerequisites at UC Berkeley.” See [FAQs, Undergraduate Programs, Berkeley-Haas](<a href=“Admission FAQ - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas”>Admission FAQ - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas) .

Thank you all for your help. I checked ASSIST out and I have one question:

Should I take core course equivalents (Math 1A/1B/16A/16B, etc) or should I knock out the breadth requirements at a community college?

I am considering the smoothest way to get a higher GPA at Cal so I have a higher chance at admission for Haas, and am thinking that if I take the core courses at a community college, I will have an easier time raising my GPA with the relatively easier breadth courses at Cal. Thoughts?

Again, thanks in advanced.

If you are already a Berkeley student, you must take any remaining prerequisites to the business major at Berkeley, according to [FAQs, Undergraduate Programs, Berkeley-Haas](<a href=“Admission FAQ - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas”>Admission FAQ - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas) .

I’m a senior in HS right now. Does that still apply?

this is late, but i finally got around to asking haas about this.
they prefer that you take core course equivalents at berkeley instead of community college…this is because when you transfer your courses from CC, they don’t count toward your GPA. they count as credits and help you in terms of class standing (being able to sign up for classes earlier than other frosh, for example). haas compares the GPA you earned for core courses with those of other applicants.
