People,

I am contemplating applying to Cal as a Junior as like a Sociology Major (30 Units of CCC credit, 35 Units of AP Credit).

Is it true that once I get to Cal, I can have the AP credit removed from my transcript, thus making me a sophomore?

If that happened, could I then apply to Haas when I earn 30 Units of Cal Credit (Bringing me back to 65 (30 Cal, 35 CCC)?

I knwo they don't let typical CCC Junior transfers apply, but this would be different because of the removal of AP Credit and subsequent reduction to Soph standing.

I’m not sure your reasoning behind this, but I’ll just put it out there that applying as a current-student is not a cakewalk and does require decent grades in the business pre-reqs.

You should check on the website, but I’m pretty sure CC transfers are barred from applying to Haas once they get in for a different major. Someone here will probably know more about this than me.

I guess. Why is that requirement in place? Is it flexible?

Students admitted to UC Berkeley as junior transfers to the College of Letters & Science or other majors are NOT eligible to apply to the Haas Undergraduate Program.

the wording seems pretty straight forward. I would run your plan by a haas adviser, because they would be the ones that could tell you. At that point… decide to either stick with another major or stay at the CC another year to finish your Haas prereqs

Thanks, ill do that.
