habitat for humanity club

i was thinking about starting a habitat for humanity club at my school. i've looked at the website and it seems like a lot of fun. i was wondering if anyone had any experience with this? and could give me advice on how often they meet, how they set things up, etc. thanks, i'd really appreciate it [:

You should probably expand it to a volunteering club, which occasionally does habitat for humanity projects. Limiting a club to habitat projects doesn’t sound too fun.

I would look to see if there is already a Habitat chapter set up in your county or town. My mother and I recieved a Habitat house about 3 1/2 years ago. Our county’s chapter is run by some older adults in the community, and unfortunetly there are few younger people involved. I think it is a great idea to start a Habitat for Humanity club, however I agree with the above poster, maybe try to expand from a different club. Or if there is a chapter established in your area, you could form a Habitat club that would get the younger generation involved. I hope it works out! As someone who has not only recieved a house, but has also helped out, it is a rewarding opportunity.

We have a club at our school and they meet once a week at luch and I would say they have maybe two fundraisers a month. Just make sure your club is well publicized (i.e. posters, announcements, etc.) and it should be pretty successful.

the only thing about making it a volunteer club .. we already have key club, which handles all that kind of stuff. I also looked for a chapter, and they do have one for the county I’m in, but I have a tough time getting in touch with them.

Chadman,
what do people who can’t build houses yet do? (because of their age) just fundraise?

I suppose, I am not part of the club so I just hear the announcements and see the posters up. I’m assuming that’s all they really can do.
