<p>There are so many nationally recognized day schools in NYC, e.g Dalton, Brearley, Chapin, Horace Mann, Fieldston, Trinity to name a few. I personally believe that NYC prep schools and the HADES are all extraordinary schools. (but the boarding school and day school experience are totally different).
I recently talked to an admission officer at NMH who worked at Fieldston a few years ago. She believes that NMH offers a superior education.</p>
