Haha, cheater cheater, pumpkin eater?

Okay, I have a question and I hope you all can give a range of answers. I just recently wrote my University of Chicago essay, and, well, I am kinda in love with it. I think it is a pience which captures my style and voice, along with showing that I am a decently good writer. I am wondering, can I use it for my CommonApp essay to a couple of colleges? It is so unique that it almost unnoticealy answers the question to the University ot Chicago essay. While I have another essay written, I believe that this one is possibly better. What do you all think? Is this just lazy? Or resourceful? :P

Resourceful.

I don’t see a problem with it. I mean the essay you wrote for the common app was going to many schools, why not the one you wrote for Chicago?

The colleges almost expect you to do that. If it’s really that good of an essay, you’d only be hurting yourself if you don’t.

Thanks. Any more responses?

“It is so unique that it almost unnoticealy answers the question to the University ot Chicago essay”

If it doesn’t clearly answer the University of Chicago prompt, you should definitely use it as your common app essay. That way it will both help your app for all your schools, in addition to the fact that it allows you to form another essay that specifically addresses U of C’s prompt.

i would say don’t use it if it’s TOO specific. or at least give it a good editing over. i’ve heard, on this very site, that if colleges figure that you’re recycling an essay from another school for their school, they really won’t like it…

which Chicago supplement question did u chose? If it was #2-5 then I doubt u could use those for ur common app.

Haha, it was number 1. :D

Resourceful. Do it!
