Haha, the optional photograph...

How do you think the school would react if I sent a comical photo of me?

Reject you with extreme prejudice of course.

They may even insult your mother in the letter.

they’d probably think you are immature…depends on what you mean by “comical” though

describe it.. then we can respond.

just a picture of me wearing a headband I made out of streamer material.

There were numerous threads asking about this last year. Search a bit for everyone’s opinion.

can i send picture of me painting?
im applying to SEAS but my big EC is art(drawing/painting)
i have picture of me taken in studio while painting and
of course i’m looking at camera and smiling but has art stuff in background
with me holding art stuff..

anyway will this kinds of pics be alright?

^ that might actually be a cool pic, seas takes engineers with interests in other fields in addition to engineering, they’ll probably like it, and it’ll highlight that aspect of you. They probably will not put too much thought into it, as it isn’t officially evaluated.

ok thank you!

the photo you send in will be the one they use for the Facebook you get when you arrive on campus - you know, the headshots of each of your fellow classmates.

if you decide you want to wear a 10-gallon cowboy hat for yours, feel free, but it won’t affect anything evaluative in your application and if admitted, you’ll be “the kid who wore a cowboy hat in his yearbook photo”.

The photo you send it for the app is different for the photo that you send in for the Facebook, which is different from the photo you send in for your ID card.
