Hahaha are you serious.. ACT is a joke!!

I'm a rising senior scrambling to get a high score on SOME standardized test..
In may, I got a 700M, 600CR, 650W.. pretty mediocre for my standards..

I'm taking the ACT tomorrow so I thought what the heck I'll take a practice test, why didn't anyone tell me it was so easy?!?!

36 english, 36 math, 34 reading, 30 science.. what is that, like a 2250+ SAT?

The math on the ACT is literally 60 level 3 SAT math questions it felt like, the english questions test you at about a 9th grade grammar level.. Reading is so much more straight forward, science wasn't horrible but it can be tedious..

Maybe the ACT just agrees with me more, but from my perspective, it is MILES easier..

You too???..lmao… I dare not attempt the SAT…it is such a jerk…lmao… I was gonna sign up for the ACT tomorrow but decided against it…but yeah I was worried about math then I saw the questions and did pretty well, but those are just practice.

Some people do well on the SAT. Some do well on the ACT.
Some kids get 2380 on the SAT and only a 32 on the ACT. Some people get 36 on the ACT and only 2200 on the SAT.

It seems like you probably have mastered most school subjects to a certain extent. Thus, the ACT is better for you. And, if you’ve taken statistics before, you should probably know that one test is not an accurate representation of your real score. You probably need to take quite a few to be confident it’s so easy. For example, I took a practice SAT exam and got a 2400. Does that mean the real thing was that easy? In reality, I didn’t get a 2400. After taking a couple more practice tests, my average hovered around 2350 (which was around what I got).

And I took the ACT too. I find that both tests are both difficult in different ways. Technically, I scored higher on the SAT than I did on the ACT. 35 vs mid 2300s.

Basically, don’t assume something is always true if it’s true for only one case. You might (obviously) find that you score higher/lower in reality than you do on practice tests. Good luck! Hope it goes well for you!

I agree with mitigated. I’m a mom with two kids a year apart. D graduated last year and did much better on the ACT. Son is a Sr. this year. Just heard he made National Merit Semi-Finalist - but only got a 30 on the ACT. He said he was sick that day and didn’t prep… but that is a huge difference. So our little science experiment here leads me to believe it is totally based on the individual.
