hey mike9x! i was rejected from Yale after being deferred ---- totally know how you feel. AND rejected from columbia.

but def consoled by the fact that i got into H! just the one, haha. didn't apply to P but i doubt i would have gotten in. anyway -- mucho congrats and i'll see you on cloud 50 :D

I got rejected after deferral as well. But there is no way in hell I would get accepted into H. You are 2 very lucky people.

mike9x and M_c,
could you post your stats???

hehehe, i was rejected from Yale too. But i am also consoled by the fact that i got into Harvard and Columbia!!!

i was rejected from yale after being deferred ... and rejected from columbia ... and brown ... and northwestern. and now i hate my life. considering i don't think my stats were bad at all ... especially for columbia who doesn't care that much about SAT scores ... i just don't understand. and it's my birthday.

yeah....i got triple rejed today, after being straight up rejected by yale early, i have gotten waitlisted by wash u, rejected by columbia, brown, and dartmouth, and waitlisted by cornell

umm rejected columbia after deferall, waitlisted upenn

I'm really sorry to those who had many rejections/waitlists today. Especially to loving_life because it's your birthday :(

For those who asked, I'll post my stats. But there are people in my school who were rejected with completely better numbers. All I can say is never underestimate the importance of a good interview.

I'll make this short and easy:

GPA: my school is weird, but around a 98 weighted
SAT: 2330
SATII: 750 math2C, 780 physics, 800 lit
Rank: 3/90
ummmm can't think of any other numbers lol.

Essay: pretty good, i think. i wrote about my name.. lol.. not that it's unusual or anything.. it just kind of came out. i guess it's pretty unconventional -- it kind of read like a poetic novel, if that makes sense. tennessee williams style.

Recs: stellar. i'm a projected english major but my recs were from my math and science teachers because they knew me as a person, not just as a student.

ECs: 4 years varsity swimming (captain 1 yr), 3 years varsity x-country (captain 2 yrs), habitat, model UN, some other things i didn't put down on my application.

Other: i'm an Asian female. and i had a really really good interview. and i hate math and science. i guess that's unusual, as an Asian.

hope this helps. keep this in perspective guys.. the ivies are psycho. you can never tell what they'll do. as i mentioned above, i was rejected from yale and columbia. i was also waitlisted at dartmouth. crazy.
