<p>Do you think donating your hair is something exceptional or something? All it requires is balls and a trip to the stylist/salon/etc. Being an intel finalist is a hook because the amount of dedication, work, perserverance, (not to mention intelligence) needed to win is staggering. Being very very low income is a hook because the fact that you got great grades and test scores while living in a trailer shows your determination and character. See a trend?</p>
<p>Now, if you write about donating hair in your essay and how it affected your perspective on the difficulties cancer patients face, etc., and maybe if you added an EC or volunteered for cancer, etc. then you could turn it into a meaningful EC and/or an essay.</p>
