Perhaps it is some form of hormone imbalance? Apparently, your hair naturally changes color as you get older. Also, this could be a form of "natural highlighting" caused by sun exposure. Generally, if it is occurring naturally, then you should be fine.

I'm Asian, and I have brown hair. My dad (he's actually British Indian) also has brown hair, but my mom doesn't, so I really should have black hair, unless my mom has a recessive gene, which I guess she must though I do not recollect of anyone from her side of the family with brown hair. But I'm happy, I'm one of the only asian dudes I know with naturally brown hair.

ONE hair turned white and I totally freaked out and thought every other hair would turn white. But I didn't (I haven't noticed anything at least).

But several strands of hair have been turning brown now.

Snoopy, can stress cause black hair to turn brown?

Diehldun, No I don't swim (more like I can't)

NyJunior, I'm fully asian (at least to my knowledge). Maybe the Caucasoid genes are finally expressing themselves after several millenia.

A lot of people get a couple grey hairs... almost every dark-haired person I've talked to, (including myself), have noticed one or two creeping in there.

No this doesn't mean you'll suddenly turn grey overnight ;).

If it really bugs you, just pluck them out. You can probably keep doing this for at least another decade :)

Actually, I think hair color is Polygenic meaning there is a spectrum of colors and therefore there are really no recessive or dominant genes. It's usually a mix of two or more genes.
