haircut in westwood?

anyone know of a good place in westwood to get a haircut that won't break a bruin's wallet?

i could give you one for $5 but i can't guarantee the quality.

^ that's what she said! :D haha i couldnt resist

I usually get my haircuts at Sigal cuz they had a special $15 price for students, but when I went this week I saw they raised prices to $20 so I might need to find another place.

^ hahaha wow.

there's a lot of other threads on haircuts - you can search those.

who is she?

your mother.

Is campuscuts pretty bad?

yeah i'm not too fond of campus cuts

There are previous threads about haircuts around UCLA, with this being the recent: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=384395&highlight=haircuts

I think that people are underestimating this place. It's okay if you are seeking a simple style haircut. $14 plus shampoo.

Everything in Westwood is $20+ as far as the hair salons I know of. FAMA might raise from $12, seeing that Sigal did from $15.

There's a place in Westwood called "La Belle" where students get $10 haircuts if you show your Bruin Card.

mina at la belle does a great job with bikini waxes

This topic comes up surprisingly frequent.

very mature.

It was the perfect setup. I couldn't let it get away.

Beware of being tricked by this shop. It is sad that some of the barbers are pretty good, but the owner is very cunning. He is not good at cutting hair at all, and I had experience with him cutting my hair. That is not the worst part, but he thinks of numerous unreasonable ways to trick students not being able to take advantage of the $10 discount.

The shop does not look good and seems old. A few of the barbers are good, but quality is not consistent.

Also, DO NOT get fooled by the sign outside saying [students with ID can get haircut for $10]. That is simply a LIE. They never specified on the sign saying that if you request a specific barber, you won’t get the discount; yet, there is this restriction. Basically, if you simply say “Hi” to one of the barbers, (That’s what I did), the owner will hold you requesting a barber, and rip you off by demanding you to pay $15, and the discounted rate no longer applies.

Don’t think that you can just walk in and sit down without saying anything will save you either. They are very tricky! the owner always dresses up in a barber gown, and he just sits there. When you go in, he will not say that he is available for taking customers, so you never know he is the next available barber. Yet, he will claim himself he was available when you have finished the haircut, so when you pay, the discounted rate will not apply either due to you “Not taking the next available barber” at the first place.

Students! don’t get fooled by the advertisement outside the shop! You will not pay $10 for a haircut in this shop basically, it’s $15 dollars.

If you pay $15 dollars for a men’s haircut, there are a lot of better options available in westwood.

At least, I am not going there again after being tricked.
