Does anyone know of a good haircut place near campus (possibly near U/V side of campus)? My son is looking for a haircut. Does not want to go to a SuperCuts type place. I suggested that he ask some girls that he knows (I think girls/women tend to know more about good stylists, than guys do).

HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Okay, like, I'm sorry to post something that doesn't answer your question, but man, with all the intense freak-out topics in this forum, this topic is just hilarious... :) thanks for the laugh -- in all seriousness -- thank you for posting this and lightening the mood.

mackdacre - glad to lighten the mood. :-) You must be an incoming Freshman. Good luck to you. I went back and looked at a few or your posts. Yes, there will continue to be many more acceptances, for weeks to come. The acceptances that went out recently (and may still be going out) are typically the acceptances that go out to the scholarship candidates. The school has to notify those people early enough, so that they can get scheduled for an interview, and also have enough time to make their final decision (whether to attend USC, or not). My son received the P/S. I do remember the stress of this time of year. Again, best wishes to you. It is a great school.

There's basically just Supercuts and some shady looking barbershops that I know of. Not sure if any are good. I know a couple guys I know went to supercuts... it wasn't that pretty, I must admit.

I usually go to Koreatown to get my hair cut... I can't say I know of many hair places around campus :P

My roommate goes to the haircut place at the UV and has become familiar with the barber there. It's $20 for him, and he seems to do a good job.

I heard the place in the UV is pretty good. And just a little more than SuperCuts.

I'll be honest, I live about two hours away from USC, so I usually stagger my "weekend" trips back home to about once a month... which is when I need a haircut.

However, for those who do not have the luxury of such an option, (most) of my friends actually go to the SuperCuts and are OK with it (it's not like there are that many options avaliable).

I had a somewhat different experience with the place in the UV. I told the woman cutting my hair, "I like it a little longer, maybe just take an inch or so off because it's getting out of hand". I looked in the mirror when she was done and my hair was almost all gone! Terrible. Not only that, but there was a major communication gap with the receptionist who was not at all welcoming and basically left me wandering around trying to figure out where this supposed stylist was.

Absolutely terrible experience and I'll never go back there again. I've simply avoided getting a haircut on campus since then. I've heard the Supercuts is ok, though.

If you guys are talking about the large sized store on the corner across from Radio Shack- no way! ghetto to the max! I once went there and was charged $20 to get a Hair Wash (typically $5-$10). Plus, the woman who washed me smelled like she lives out of her car and had not showered or washed her pubies in a week!
Yikes! Avoid!

Well, to be fair, there are multiple hair salons in the UV. Maybe one is shadier than the rest...so take your chances.

My son who's a senior always gets his hair cut at the Super Cuts and honestly it usually looks bad. I don't think he knows anywhere else. His haircuts at our hometown barber are great.

I had read that there is a barber in the Student Union building, right?

I highly doubt that there is a barber in the Student Union. I've certainly never heard of one.

It's not that close to the campus, but check out a place called Hair World (HairWorldLA.com), in Koreatown... good price and they work late hour for those of us who has to work during the day/go to class... they have coupon too.

there's definately not one in STU, if there was, i would've found it by now

I use Supercuts myself and I like it. all I did was print out some pictures from different angles of me that my friends posted on facebook, brought it to the place, and they took care of me.

as for the UV, yeah, there's one across from RadioShack, then there's one between Superiors, Baskin Robins, and that cell phone place.
