<p>Hey, I live in Baltimore (birthplace of Hairspray, and the setting of the first, and original, movie and the musical and, I would guess, the new movie version) and I know they had hundreds at the open call here that was held a few weeks ago. Though I wish all of you who auditioned elsewhere good luck, I think it would be amazing if they found their Tracy here where it all began! :)</p>
<p>Yes, I can understand how it would be cool to find a Tracy in Baltimore, but for my sake, I hope it's in Toronto......all of us who auditioned no matter where, worked very hard.</p>
<p>I am rooting for you, ZoeyC, and for all the talented Tracies out there. I apologize if my post about Baltimore made it sound as if I did not want you to get the part. I sure do!</p>

I never felt bad vibes from either of you, as a matter of fact this site has been wonderful, and has made me feel that I could actually have a chance. I am just trying to be realistic about this. I do know that there are so many of us out there who were called back for Tracy, so I am trying to keep things in perspective. That doesn't mean however; that I am not rooting for myself....lol. Truly, I wish all of us good luck.

<p>ZoeyC, the fact that you already have had a callback is so amazing, and I don't blame you for being hopeful! You should be hopeful. And you are right: this site is fantastic. The people here are generally super nice and supportive and are so generous about sharing information. Promise that you will keep us posted on what happens vis a vis Hairspray. (Have you ever seen the original movie? If not, I urge you to rent it. It's truly hilarious, especially the Penny Pingleton character and her mother.)
Keep on posting and letting us know what you are doing, and not just about Hairspray. Are you in college now?

<p>Yes, I am in University studying Kenesiology. I really appreciate all of your kind words. This really is a lovely site. I will definately keep you posted should I hear anything more about my audition. I was told that I may not hear from them for 2 weeks. If that time passes and I haven't heard, I guess that would mean I obviously am not being considered any further. This is so hard because this is exam time and my mind is reeling from this Hairspray stuff. Oh well, back to reality....</p>
<p>ZoeyC, do what Tracy would do: forge ahead and get the job (your exams!) done! Let nothing stand in your way. That is how Tracy acted, right? :) :)</p>

<p>Yes, I am the same way. I'm from Ottawa but I went to Toronto and auditioned and got a call back. Then I went Sunday and now I just have to wait. It really sucks but what can you do? But that is nice to hear that they were blown away by Canadian Talent.</p>
<p>STAGEBORN, my D applied on line as well and was e-mailed and asked to send a tape of the pieces they sent. She was delayed in sending it all back, had to find someone to tape her, then got really sick, and then find someone to tape her once she was better (guess it's time to buy her a video camera!) We sent the tape about a week and a half ago - wonder if it was too late - she hasn't heard anything yet either.</p>

<p>I heard that we may not hear any results until the beginning of May. So I guess we will all have to be patient. Where did you hear that they were blown away by the Canadian Talent? That kind of news is exciting!</p>
<p>sorry i didn't mean that they were blown away, but the fact that alwaysamom shared with us about her friend who was working at the auditions and said that they found some really good talent in Toronto gives me hope. I think it would absolutly be fabulous if the new Tracy was a Canadian. Anyways right now I guess everyone is just still waiting. This forum is good though, cuz if anyone hears anything they will let everyone else know.</p>
