My schedule is look pretty empty with 4 credits right now...about 11 hours a week.
Are there any half credit courses available that an econ or math major would take?

Also, to take math 103X it says u need permission, where would i get that permission?

haha yeah i was talking to my roommate and his schedule was so full and hes got track and work and all that. I felt kinda bummish. So I'm considering more, if there is anything.

11 hours a week is standard for 4 credits. Trust me, that's not an empty schedule. But if you want a half-credit course that will take up time, a PE class is your best bet.

Email the instructor for permission for 103X.

permission most likely comes from the professor, so just send him/her an email and you'll probably get in.

i dont think that there are many half credit classes for econ / math people specifically. you could always try to pick up a lab course instead of one of the courses you have bookbagged, it would add a few hours.

also, try to get involved with some campus groups. if you find something you like it could fill your week up in a hurry.

To second what bsballallstr said, extracurricular activities are VERY different in college than they were in high school. I'm involved with a group that literally requires a minimum of 35 hours of involvement every semester -- and that's a bare minimum just to stay in the group. My roommate was the assistant stage manager of a play (yes, she was able to do this her fall semester of freshman year), and she was literally at practice for...about 5-6 hours every night...often longer. Not only are activities more time consuming, but there's so much more to do -- I'm sad that I have to restrain myself from doing about 20 things I'd like to because there just isn't enough time in the week...things like being a tour guide, learning latin dancing, working with nearby elementary schools, volunteering around campus/Durham, joining a million clubs, on and on and on. There is SO MUCH to get involved in and do...don't underestimate how much time you'll want to have open for extracurricular stuff.
