The town of Easton is, I believe, a good bit nicer than jkeil911 remembers it from 30 years ago. There are restaurants, some stores, a theater. My D goes “down the hill” to Easton for a chance of pace in her normal campus life. And she has had the chance to attend events in NYC through classes and extracurricular activities (an opera at the Met and a Broadway show).

And yes, in the end it is up to you to figure out which school is the best fit for you.

I wouldn’t place much on the graduation rate and endowment. Just an FYI…according to latest endowment statistics, Lafayette’s is slightly larger than Hamilton’s endowment. Both have amongst the highest endowment-per-capita rate of any college in the nation. If you excel at either, you will certainly reach your goals. Coming from the Philadelphia area…I can tell you more people know of Lafayette than Hamilton. I’m sure the opposite is true if you’re from NYC. It comes down to this…pick whichever feels right for you. Also please please please take scholarships into account. I cannot stress enough how debt is a life-long ordeal.

I applied to both, still waiting to hear back, but I definitely say hamilton. There’s a lot to take into consideration though, like traveling and such. Either one would be great, so congrats on getting into both!
