Wesleyan - more prestigious and WAY more famous alumni in every profession - law, business, sports (Bill Belichick!), theater (Lin Manuel Miranda), politics (both US Senators from Colorado are Wes graduates), medicine, music etc.
Hamilton can’t point to one alumnus at Wes’ level
This perception likely depends on how knowledgeable someone might be with respect to the history of fields such as modern literature and 20th century psychology, especially as might be seen through preeminent figures in the artistic movement known as imagism and the prominent branch of psychology known as behaviorism. Knowledge of Nobel laureates and current Cabinet members also might be helpful before expressing a viewpoint on this topic.
The above said, Wesleyan has, indeed, produced some fantastic alumni.
This is an old thread. It probably should have been closed.
Not real close. . . But pretty close. Only about 15 miles.
David Solomon, CEO of Goldman Sachs, where half of NESCAC grads try to get a job.
I’d take Hamilton in a heartbeat over Wes. Better in almost every way.
Apparently @stuyves also known as Michael Roth hasn’t returned to CC since April having been preoccupied with his day job😀
Lol. Hamilton is a fine college and certainly has advantages over Wes, but the opposite is true as well.
I suspect, but can never prove, that this one and another I’ve seen posting recently aren’t actually Wesleyan people but belong to one of the other NESCAC schools. The more absurd the comments the more likely I think that to be the case.
Well all posts on here are individual opinions. Visited both. Very familiar with Wes as we live close. D only applied to Hamilton, thankfully.
Yes, and it’s my individual opinion that you shared an opinion that is both uninformed and incorrect. I, myself, live near Google’s Seattle offices and somehow have managed to escape becoming an expert on that organization.
Phew! Good thing your D applied only to Hamilton! No telling what might have happened had she applied to that inferior den of iniquity in Central Ct.
Opinions cannot be uninformed nor incorrect. I never claimed to be an expert on anything. Clearly hit a nerve. No need to get bent out of shape.
The original poster asked the question a year ago. Presumably the decision has been made. I’m not sure why the thread keeps getting revived for off-topic discussion. Closing.
