@tlbph I was shocked. Best package I’ve received so far from any school.
Colby had a similar offer to Hamilton, but these two definitely stood apart.

Accepted but not nearly enough aid. Makes me really sad because it was one of my top schools. And being an international student I dont think they’d give me too much more if I appealed. Pomona gave me a better package however.
Also I was very impressed with how they mentioned a specific part of my application in my acceptance letter. A documentary I made, in my case.

@AShahid23: Congratulations on your acceptance. Hamilton’s policy is to meet the full demonstrated financial need of all accepted students, regardless of origin.
Hamilton gave DS $10,000 less in aid then any other school. Most of the other schools were LACs which used the CSS. I guess Hamilton had a different read on our family’s need.
@Mom24boys: Some colleges will incentivize the decision process with their financial aid offers. Hamilton may not decide to match your son’s other offers on this basis alone; but if you believe these other colleges have made a truer assessment of your family’s need, then, by all means, you could appeal Hamilton’s decision.
How did the final results compare to what you got when you ran the NPCs for each school?
Our financial situation was very much in flux last year so NPC was not useful.
If you plug the numbers that Hamilton used from your CSS/Profile into their NPC now, do you get a result similar to what the Hamilton FA package shows?
