Real weird scenario here...
-graduated early from high school in 2011 with a 3.0
-went to SUNY Plattsburgh this past year, it was a horrible fit, didn't know what I expected to get out of the experience, got a 2.06 cumulative
-withdrew so as to ensure I didn't go back and experience the same trouble, half intended to self educate instead
-after a couple months of introspection, decided to find an "alternative" college and attempt to go there, with a very clearly defined set of prerogatives
-applied to Hampshire about three days ago (seven essays later) and put in some rather good writing
-applied as a transfer-as-first-year (only 16 credits to transfer)
-had an interview yesterday at the campus that went exceedingly well, the tour was great too, I was beaming at just how perfect of a fit it seemed to be
-from central new york state

Essentially, although I'm quite well-read and knowledgeable from my own efforts, my resistance to grades has hurt me on the books. I was a lame student, but I have a passion to learn, and a new set of well-thought-out prerogatives and an unprecedented sense of direction.
My writing and essay are my lifeline here, and it seems that I am EXACTLY who they're looking for... my grades and late application may hurt me, though. I know Hampshire is kind of in the periphery (seems like most people are talking ivies and GPA's here), so it's sort of a stretch, but any info would be greatly appreciated.
I'll answer any other questions as well. Thanks.
