The program at Hampshire sounds exciting, but are there enough smart, hardworking students to make it a stimulating environment?

It sure seems to me that there are plenty of smart, hardworking students. I was so impressed by many of the presentations that graduating students gave of their Div III (Senior) projects this past May. I have heard several students say something along the lines of, “every kid at Hampshire is a nerd”, meaning that they are deeply interested in pursuing something (perhaps at times obscure). That would seem to be the case from my somewhat limited observations.

I think that one does not need to worry about the lack of a stimulating environment. There are so many things happening and so many kids involved in making things happen. Students in classes I’ve visited are some of the most vocal and assertive I’ve ever seen. But, don’t take my word for it - visit the campus and attend some classes for yourself.
