Can you chance me for Pitt, PSU, CMU, JHU, Cornell, Michigan Ann Arbor. Also, please help me think of schools in the northeast United States that are good in engineering but would also be good for premed, as I plan to go to medical school.
For UMich CoE, your SAT score is right below admission average while your GPA is also low. It would be a low reach for in state and a reach from OOS. The admission average is around 3.9/33/2200.
@billcsho What north eastern schools would you recommend to me as matches?
Purdue would be a great engineering school that is a match for you.
thanks!
UIUC
Thanks @Foisa1, any others that come to mind?
UIUC engineering is nearly as competitive as UMich for OOS students. The admission stat in the last few years were highly similar between the two schools (average GPA3.9, mid 50 ACT 31-34) although the admission rate is higher for UIUC. Note that the chance at UIUC would depend on your intended major. Also, don’t expect any aid from OOS for UIUC.
Do you think I’d likely get into Umich or UIUC?
Not likely at UMich as both GPA and test scores are below average. The OOS admission rate is in the teens and the view GPA to be the most important factor, so it is a reach. For UIUC, it may be a low reach but it really depends on your intended major as not all engineering are the same.
