For one of my courses I have to "sell" the head of research and development on my ideas for a new hand-held PDA that is geared towards college students. If you own or use a personal digital assistant it would be very helpful to know what you do and don't like about it. More specifically, what features or advancements would you like PDAs to have in the future? Any opinions on the PDA market would be appreciated as well. Thanks.

There is no PDA market for the future. PDA's were made obsolete with the rise of smart phones. I spent a lot of money on a Dell Axim a couple years ago and it's the biggest shopping related regret of my life (seriously). It's awkward to type on (you have to get a foldout bluetooth keyboard or use the horrible pen). It doesn't have any of the useful functions that the latest smart phones have, surfing the internet with it is near worthless.

PDAs went out in the 90s. Just thought you should know.

They're basically obsolete .. I think Best Buy still sells like three models. I'm surprised Palm(TM) is still in business.

Palm is still in business because its Treo line is very popular. A lot of business people still use PDAs but more have tended to go over to smart phones (Treos and Blackberries).

I have a Palm TX. I like that it's very useful with its calendar features and online browsing. I also like how I can play some songs and videos on it with pretty good resolution. I don't have too many problems or qualms with it either.
