I'm considering getting a PDA for college. (I'll be a sophmore.) Since I've never shopped for one before I have no idea where to start and what to look for and what kind exist, so I'd appreciate some guidance.

I'm a Biomedical Engineering student, I need it primarily to keep my contacts, schedules, and obligations straight, and an addressbook, a to do list, a calendar and many other things. It has to be easy to use, stirdy (not flimsy and easily broken!) a good interface etc... Also internet access should be via wifi if such PDAs exist (since the campus is blanketed in it, and I don't want to pay for cell phone internet service.)
A good input device is a must, a computer interface, and lots of available applications (free is good!)

Also I don't want to be locked into any particular OS or technology... now I don't plan to run Linux on my PDA but it'd be nice to be able to.

So basically I want something that's flexible, expandable and easy to use! (Don't we all?)

Price Range: $300-400
