Handwritten note from Regional College Rep

Hi,

My son, a junior, received a handwritten thank-you postcard in the mail yesterday from the Regional College rep from Davidson. He did sit down with her and the high school guidance counselor during the college fair as he was the only one from his high school to show at her Q&A. Is there any significance to this, or would this just have been a standard thing for her to do?

(Btw, he is very competitive for Davidson, as his PSATS are in the 230s and he has a high GPA, but she would have no way of knowing this, I guess unless the guidance counselor shared this info after, altho the rep did leave first).

Thanks

Probably no significance but it would be beneficial for him to stay in touch with her in non-intrusive kinds of ways (e.g. sending her a follow-up e-mail highlighting his interest in Davidson, send her a note when his application is submitted, requesting an interview with her in the winter, etc.).
