Hanging posters in residence halls

I heard you can't stick tacks into walls to hang up posters.

How do you do it then? Does tape stick well?

Tape works. I think they recommend carpenter's tape for obvious reasons.

You can tack it if you have a tacky board wall, like in RT. Or if you are gangster you can still do it on the non tacky walls, like in dykstra.. just don't get caught, or bribe your RA, or sleep with your RA so that they'll let you slide.

be careful with any type of adhesive because it can tear a piece of you wall off

do they have the tack boards in hedrick summit by any chance?

same question as above, but how about for sproul hall?

sproul hall walls are tackable...

summit, vista, terrace (and i think sproul now) have two walls that are entirely tack board.

they recommend you use low tack tape like 3M blue painters tape on anything thats non-tack board so you dont rip paint off the wall.

except blue might not be the best color :)

thats why you roll it up and put it behind the poster/picture/whatever you are putting up. ;)

It is blue at UCLA. Can't be all that bad.

But yeah, go with painters/carpenters tape. Our RA had a big fight with some admins b/c the admins got ****ed at them posting stuff, blah blah. Long story short, they posted all the policies, verbatim, using that type of tape and what not. The policy specifically mentioned that type of tape. LOL.

i used those 2 side poster sticky thingies and didn't get fined... maybe im lucky? cuz i left a lot of those on the wall, and peeled off some wall in dogwood
