[Hangs head] I'm a smart person. Really.

So on the May SAT, I got an 1850. Okay, that's amazing for my school. I scored the third-highest in my class (yeah, we're a sad school testing-wise).

I got a 660 in CR (I think like, the second-highest score in my school...sad, I know).
A 710 in Writing (Definitely highest score in my school).

...and a 480 in Math.

Am I severely math deficient? Because usually, people who are smart enough to get nice scores on the other two-thirds can get like, a 600 in math, even if they don't like math or don't do well in it. I'm retaking.

Should I get specialized math help? Gahh, I feel...math-compromised. I did so poorly, either it's a result of me...actually knowing nothing...or could it be something that needs, like, specialized help? ROFL.

This is such a sad post.

Get grubers for math. I used to get 610's, and went up to a 740 in two weeks of grubers math

Math has a tough curve, and really requires you to be able to work fast. All you need is some more practice, it's no big deal.

Math is the easiest to improve on.
Just practice.

lets switch, i'll give u my 710 m ,and u give me ur 660 cr xD
math is alot easier to study than cr =////

I think the best way to improve on math is just by practicing lots of problems. The more that you practice SAT math problems, the more familiar you'll become with the types of questions they tend to ask and the tricks they tend to use... good luck!

Hey az1698, how much of the math did you do in Grubers. I have grubers but there is just so much information to get through. Currently I am at around a 610 in math so any advice would be appreciated.

its okay i feel like an idiot as well........ im getting around at 490 480 on the practice tests. and i feel like a complete idiot to

Don't worry -- standardized testing is never an actual reflection of your intelligence, no matter what people might say. Math is also probably the easiest score to gain on either the SATs or ACTs, because you can work at it in a concrete, systematic manner (while reading and writing usually are the result of having already been good readers/writers). If you're confident of your reading/writing, just focus on taking math practice tests a few times, and reviewing the math.

LMAO I'll switch with you as well for you 660 CR...I've been scoring mid 700s on math lately. Yeah you're not doing bad in CR and writing only math...which is the easiest to improve on. I'm sure if you start studying your butt off you could probably improve 200-250 points. But as for my CR T.T I've been studying my butt off but still stuck at mid 500s! :/

I got an 1850 the first time I took the SAT as well (1940 the second time), and had like the third highest score at my school too haha. It's such an ego trip when you go to school and people are so impressed by your score, but when you come on here you're "below average" by CC standards anyway. Math is my problem area too. I've been using Gruber's and I think it's definately been helping. I would also recommend Barron's math workbork. There's tons of practice problems and it's pretty much overkill, but it prepares you.

I'm not good at CR, but I'd rather suck at math because it's much more easier to be improved. Improving CR is painstaking and exhausting. I need to read a lot. If you have such a low score for math, I think you can improve easily by knowing all the important math concepts.

math is really easy to improve in. if you're really smart you should be able to get 2100-2200 with study

I just went through all the drills so i got all the materials down pat.
