my brother got a letter from CB yesterday that said they lost his multiple choice answer sheet for his USGovt exam. It wasn't a canned letter, it sounded personalized, they offered him three choices
1. Choose to take a 4, because they said from his FRQs it looked like he would get at least that.
2. Retake the MC in the next week or so (I'm assuming they would send someone to our school or something, since they don't normally offer it this time period.)
3. Refund 82$

Anyone else know someone this happened to?, I would freak out on them if it happened to me.

i really feel bad for this kid.............
u sure its a CB letter not some joke....???
wow its summer already and he still needs to worry about his AP exam and possibly retake it................ i would spend the whole week reading PC and retake it.....

I think this is a good deal from the collegeboard. A 4 is not a bad score, especially if he gets college credit for the exam. Retaking just the MC portion is not bad either, you only need a few days of prep to be able to do that.

That sucks, but they gave him some decent options. I can't imagine anyone wanting a refund without any score, unless they think they really bombed it. A 4 is definitely not bad, and retaking the MC couldn't hurt either.

That is perhaps the strangest situation I have ever heard of from CB, but anyway, I would personally take the four since I would be too lazy to rekindle my memory and hit the books, but if he feels apt to doing it, and also I realized that what's the worse that could happen, if they predicted a four based on FRQ then what are the odds of his score becoming much lower [a high three at the worst], so I would say go for it then.

Well he decided to try and contact the college he's going to (gatech) to see if they'll take the score. Because it's not as simple as a 4, it would be a 4 with a parenthetical note saying "test incomplete" or something like that.

thats kinda messed up considering the CB messed up. This makes it sound like your bro just didnt do part of the test and got a 4. I would think that your bro's college would look down on that. I personally would fight for that grade. It's the CB's fault, do doubt.

Hi there,
The exact same thing happened to my boyfriend only it was the Computer Science exam, not the US Govt one. He was given the same options and I'm pretty sure he plans to retake it because he was very confident about his preformance on the multiple choice the first time. His mother called CB and was told that out of the 2 mil. tests they give every year they only lose about 1%, which isn't really very comforting.
I myself have been dealing with CB for about 3 weeks now trying to correct issues that happened during the processing of my test and am less than impressed with their customer service department.
