After they finally accept that they're not going to an Ivy, do students LOVE being here?

I'm into three schools, all of which I would be so happy to attend. This could be the deciding factor.

haha, well I was an ED1, so I loved tufts in the first place (and didn't have my eye set on the Ivy's) But yes, after 2 years I still LOVE it. I've been taking classes that are awesome, awesome profs, awesome friends, awesome environment. Will be going to London for a full year, so I'm willing to part with tufts (but only for a bit!).

I find it hard to foresee your potential happiness at any given place without "testing the waters". (Taking part in an open house event really helps one gauge the environment) Have you taken a tour here or sat in during a class? Best of luck deciding on a school!

As I've noted on other posts - my son is a freshman and absolutely loves Tufts. He arrived in freshmen orientation a week early, joined the tufts mountain club hiked up Mt. Washington and never missed home!

He reports that he and his friends never really look forward to school vacations - or, for that matter, the end of the school year. He loves Tufts - he works hard, and he plays hard. He goes rock climbing, yet discovered a love of opera - and The ERGS! who he went to hear at a Boston club. He has a diverse group of friends, and really enjoys his teachers.

From a parent's perspective - things couldn't be any better, he couldn't be any happier. Tufts truly seems to offer the best of both worlds - a small Liberal Arts college with the resources of a large university. It's a school on the move.

Visit the school. If it's a good fit for you, I don't think you'll be happier anywhere else!

Ditto OldProf--
S. is another who didn't need to accept that he wasn't going to an Ivy. He looked at several, plus some LAC's, but never applied. Clicked with Tufts almost immediately and never looked back. Has since found out that many of his friends at Tufts also applied ED.

If you originally had your heart set on another school, it might take more adjustment, but I can tell you that they seem extremely happy, socially and academically. He's starting to plan for next semester, and has some amazing courses to choose from. I had some initial misgivings about the required curriculum, but it's been fine, even the IR language requirement. Good luck with your decision. Have you visited?

I have visited. I'm 90% sure I want to go to Tufts, but a large portion of my classmates are trying to convince me otherwise. Our school seems to like sending students to the South.

I'm in the same boat. Got in, but dunno if I really belong there. I'm from a low-key high school in a suburb of denver, but I'd love that change.
