Haha the townies would LOVE it but Athens is pretty hilly.

that’s nice tho sounds like what I’ve been looking for. I’ll message you in a little, I’m on my phone now hah.

if you have any questions about Clemson (#2 happiest students this year), feel free to PM me haha

Southern people are so friendly, thanks for your help guys…

Think id pretty much be in at UGA? Would it be weird going to an out of state state school that has sucha high percentage in state?

My sister went to SMU so Im used to and enjoy the southern fratty vibe, but never really liked Dallas all too much and SMU just seemed too conservative for me, sounds like UGA is a better balance for me.

Well your SAT is good but your GPA is a bit low. The entering class for this fall had an average GPA of 3.83.

Only about 15% of students are out-of-state, but they are welcomed with open arms. OOS students feel very much at home at UGA from what I understand.

What about University of Virginia?

I’m pretty sure I’m in coming from my hs which is extremely reputable…

I’ve had a super tough courseload all honors or ap.

UVA seems out of my reach…

Umiami might be a good choice

Well I encourage you to apply by all means.

Thanks Hillary! I didn’t mean that in a snobby way more an excited way!

And yeah right now I’m thinking of applying too

USC
UGA
UMiami
Charleston
SMU
UCLA
Vanderbilt

my first choice is University of Texas, Which is a very good place for music and Austin is a great city. And even though its in TX, its liberal. You might want to take a look there.

these might be reaches for you, but UNC and UVA meet a lot of your criteria

I asked my dad about UGA and he said “you could do better than that, isn’t that a redneck school”

dpc1192, you’ll encounter many southern stereotypes that simply aren’t true, the fact is that UGA is a top 60 or so school and that puts it among the best in the country

FSU, Texas, UGA would all be a great fit.

btw, UGA is not a redneck school. I think your dad may be confusing it with UF.

UNC-Chapel Hill

Great academics, amazing sports, hot girls (plus a 60%/40% girl-guy ratio), good weather, and tons of parties. Seems to meet a lot of your criteria!

That is basically what everyone in the North thinks about schools in the South, besides Duke, UNC, Vandy, Emory and Florida schools(because Florida is the only “cool” Southern state).

They think I’m nuts because I want to go to Bama, South Carolina, UGA, just to name a few.

Good luck. I’m a lot like you and I’ll be checking into the other suggestions.

Ya I wouldn’t want to go to Bama.

Maybe University of Texas or UGA thought.

Try for Duke I know it’s a reach, but why the hell not?! If you don’t apply, you have exactly 0% chance of acceptance!

I have 3 friends going to 3 of the schools on your list (CofC, Vandy, and SMU), and they all envy me for going to Duke :D

Miami, Emory, UGA, SMU, Charleston, NYU, USC?
