Happy Chanukah!

Wishing you the best celebrations of the miracle of Chanukah. Chag sameach!

Also a quick reminder for those who don’t celebrate the holiday - now is the time to offer greetings to your friends who do - you have eight days and nights!

Happy Chaunkah to all who celebrate!

Happy Chanukah to those on and off CC who celebrate. Night one gift for my D was some RainX windshield wipers. Mine from her is an original piece of art she painted representing Nick Cave’s song ‘Distant Sky’ which he wrote shortly after the accidental death of one of his twin sons. It’s the only night we give “gifts.” We are both very practical people, and our gifts tend toward things we wouldn’t normally buy for ourselves. The “rest” of her “gifts” are a donation to a charity of her choice (she’s figuring that out).Lynlea Nick Cave

Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate!

Happy Hanukkah to all of my fellow Jewish CCers! After indulging for days on Thanksgiving leftovers (so. much. pie. ), we’re not quite ready for latkes. I’ll make them on Saturday.

Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate.

Thank you - it’s watercolor on black paper - she had me look at it while listening to the song. It leapt off the page. The song is incredibly moving. Bring tissues if you listen.

Or, as written left to right, Happy Hanukkah To All!!

We always get a Costco apple pie for Thanksgiving and then one for Hanukkah. Not this year (ok, maybe we will get one next weekend).

Happy Hanukkah!

We have been invited to Hanukkah this Friday night at D2’s roommate’s parents home. We are not Jewish so I wondered if any of you had suggestions of something we could bring for the hosts?

The La Jolla Ralph’s should have some good ideas in the kosher section (far right side of store). There are some excellent kosher wines. There should also be some good cookie/cakes and maybe tasteful Chanukah table/kitchen decor items. Just for fun you could grab a few bags of gelt (chocolate coins).

Flower arrangement, preferably in white and blue.

Fresh fruit and nuts.

Gourmet applesauce if they’re serving latkes.
