Happy Days on the Pomona Forum

So far, we're batting 1.000 on the Pomona forum for ED acceptances. My D received her big envelope yesterday. The other two ED1 applicants who have posted also were accepted.

My husband usually doesn't get excited about things like this but he was home when the mail arrived. First, he checked the envelope--large, priority mail, $3.85 postage, personally printed label, maybe 5-6 pieces of paper inside. Then, he held the envelope (white) up to the light and saw the word "congratulations" hand-underlined and followed by an exclamation point. What clinched it was when he flipped it over and saw the words "Financing Options"!

When our D opened it (we weren't home), she left me a voicemail at work on which she sobbed ecstatically. She is such a happy little Sagehen! Now she'll join out S (graduating from UCLA in the spring but staying in CA) next year.

Great news! Congratulations.

congratulations

Congrats! That's wonderful news.

Thanks so much! CC and all of you have been a great support system this time around since D takes everything much more seriously than her brother did four years ago. Wishing all of you the best and a wonderful holiday season.

Little Mother: congrats! I have heard nothing but good about it. I know the parent of a freshman there (not on this board, through another avenue) and the boy is over-the-top happy!

Congratulations! I've also heard great things about Pomona. I hope she loves it there.

Little Mother I also have an over the top happy freshman son there so feel free to e-mail any questions. If your D wants his e-mail address she is also free to ask him questions. Just send me a private e-mail for his address. They have some great traditions there for the students, the student body is very friendly and they all seem to love their school. Congratulations

Congrats!!!

arizonamom, thanks so much for the offer. My d just may take you up on your offer. The daughter of one of my husband's cousins graduated from there in '98 (after transferring from Wellesley) and she's been helpful in comparing Pomona to Princeton where she's currently getting her doctorate.

At home, my D feels as if a huge weight has been lifted from her shoulders. She's worked so hard that we felt she deserved to be admitted, but then we're her parents. Then we heard the same thing from her friends yesterday, so I guess it's true. I just ordered her a sweatshirt and a stuffed Cecil Sagehen for Christmas!

LittleMom:
Congratulations to your entire family. Have you come down from cloud nine yet, or will it take a couple of days? And just how many emails/ phone calls have you made already, spreading the good news? :-)

...but enjoy the feeling anyway, you all deserve it.

Wow, congrats! Pomona is an awesome school!

Congrats! I know two very happy students there, and they are very different from each other in interests and personalities. Seems like a great community as well as a great education.

Let me add my congratulations to the list. I know the feeling!

Congrats! Fantastic! My son loved his visit to Pomona a few months ago. It must be so great to hear from them and know all is well!
