happy eid everyone! hope u have fun eating lamb. ill be taking an extra day off of school on tuesday, in addition to the winter break. yessss!

Eid mubarak. We get an extra week off, being a dominantly Muslim school.

Eid Mubarak everyone! Anybody here buy a cow? Do you guys have relatives in America to celebrate Eid with? I dont, and looks like I'll be attending school on Tuesday as if its a normal day :(

Assalamualaikum,

Eid Mubarak to everybody. A blessed day is upon us again. Don't forget tomorrow is Youm-Arafat.

Praise be to Allah I am still on vacation. Feels really nice. I wish it was this way during Ramadan especially the last ten days.

WHAT?!?!?! Is it like some muslim holiday today? I'm really confused :(

There's a Muslim holiday on Tuesday. Its eid. Even if you're not Muslim, I'd like to wish you Eid Mubarak :)

I'm curious, what is it all about? How do you guys celebrate it?

We eat and party together, just like any holiday. Its the celebration of Ibrahim's sacrifice of his son for God.

Oh, enjoy your holiday and thanks for explaining. I was confused.

I'm confused...I thought Eid was the big holiday at the end of Ramadan?

There's two eids - this one is Eid al adha, the one after ramadan is eid al fitr.

Oh, ok. Happy Eid then :)

Thanks :)
Like Killer put it, "Even if you're not Muslim, I'd like to wish you Eid Mubarak."

Eid Mubarak fellow brothers and sisters! I'm just concerned because that day I have 2 projects and a presentation due... and then I have to work and stuff so I'm going to miss a bunch of the party, heh. But oh well, this is more important!

Hah, I just scrolled down the CC Cafe page, and there's kinda an Islamic theme going on with the threads :) -is happy-

i can never get the feel of eid if im not in a muslim country. i mean, we have finals next week and i have to start studying for that. i wished it could be a national day off, like in egypt. They have days off for both christian and muslim holidays, even though christians are a minority, only about 8%.

Yeah, that's what we get for living in a predominantly Christian country. We don't get jewish holidays off school either, so I always end up missing tons of days in September/October. If they celebrated everybody's individual holidays I have a feeling we'd be in school forever!

We'd be in school forever? Not really...when I was livin' in M'sia we celebrated Eid (both of them), Chinese New Year and Deepavali. And the national holidays. But not the Jewish holidays. That was a LOT of vacations. I don't know if we celebrated Easter. don't remember. maybe my schoool did.

Ah, so you're Muslim then KillerAngel?

Eid Mubarak....Who's missing school?

Me too....
