Happy First Day of Spring - 2023!

It’s the first day of spring! :tulip:

Let’s share our weather for this first day of the season. Cause like here, I suspect that some places it has still felt like winter, some places it feels like the heat of summer!

Also because I love outdoors and nature, share something (if anything) that is blooming in your landscape (or your community landscape). You can share with words or photos.

After a frigid weekend, we have a slight warm up to the mid 40’s today but WIND expected. March started like a lamb but has been behaving more like a lion most days! (you know that phrase?)

Blooming? Not much. Crocus. Snowdrops. The daffodill green stems are up but they are sealed shut yet!!

Well…let’s just say…it could warm up a bit…and the huge pile of snow from the plowing from the 14 inches we got last week could melt!

H and I have been at our beach house in SC for a few weeks trying to escape March in New England….but it feels like it followed us here! Current temp 42, today’s high 50. It’s been this way for most of this trip.

In the 30’s here in - I’ll take it. Just hoping some more of the snow melts down. It’s supposed to be in the 40’s and sunny on Saturday and I’m excited about that!

We don’t have this, but share more about it - is Rita’s an ice cream or shaved ice place??

I knew they weren’t national but I don’t know how widespread they are. This is a treasured family ritual for us … usually we go after school.

Southern California. Currently 56 degrees with a heavy mist. Rain forecast for all day tomorrow. It was gorgeous Saturday (70 and sunny) for the first time in a long time.

The last weekend of winter was absolutely amazing here in my neck of the woods. Rain :umbrella: is back in the picture today.

82 degrees and sunny with a light breeze here in PR. It’s been a nice “winter” for us. Back home it’s currently 39 degrees, but the long range forecast has it in the 50s after we return, so should have a nice spring feel to it.

Blooms here are abundant. I’m hoping to still catch crocuses and daffodils back home, but I’m not sure if they’ve come and gone already.

My D24, who works at Rita’s, is very happy she’s not on the schedule today. But her PSA is “Don’t forget to tip your server for that freebie!”

Bright and sunny and brisk (in the high 40’s) here. Crocus, snowdrops, daffodils and maple trees are blooming here.

Friday and Saturday were beautiful 70 degree days here in San Diego. We walked to the beach Friday, Saturday and Sunday and had sprinkles on our walk yesterday.

Today it’s in the 50’s and it rained a bit last night, but the heavy rain is on it’s way the next few days.

It’s currently 29 with a windchill “feels like 21” but I’m really excited to see a high of 38 in today’s forecast!

72 degrees and sunny here in AZ. We had a record-breaking cold winter this year. Had to wear jackets most days.

It’s sunny here, mid 50s, chance of a bit of rain. I’d be planning a run later except recovering from Covid (thankfully not too bad).

It’s Colorado, so there’s a good chance we will get snow again sometime over the next month (or more). Surprised not to have any crocus yet… I even added new bulbs to the mix last fall.

I have not yet been puttering in the garden. It has been nice to have blooms on the geraniums I’ve been propagating over past few years (from some potted plants on my mom’s windowsill, which had been from my yard originally).

There are a few more under a grow light in the den. But I got all the pretty ones into the kitchen and made some room for TBD seed planting.

Those are gorgeous - you should share them on the gardening thread AND how you propagate them!

Overcast and 70 degrees here in Scottsdale. We did drive up into the mountains on Saturday to see the wildflowers, which on in full bloom along the roadways. We made it as far as Tortilla Flat, where the road was closed due to flooding. Allergies are also in full bloom down here.
