Happy Mother's Day!

I just wanted to send out a heartfelt "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!" to all the Service Academy moms on the site.

In large part, you are responsible for raising the quality kids we have either joining or already at the Service Academies, and I, for one, snap off a respectful salute and a hearty "BRAVO ZULU!"

May God bless you all...

Ahhh. You're SO sweet! Us mommies know we have it good. I've got it especially good this day. Chocolate cake at 2pm!!!!! My mid calling & older son coming to have dinner. Notice the order of my happiness. Life is good.

Oh, and for you Mids and candidates out there, go hug and HOLD your mom, because someday you won't be able to anymore, and you'll remember and rue all the opportunities you missed.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom. I miss you. :(

Thanks, Zaphod. Being a mom has been a joy since Day 1. And the moms on this site can be especially joyful because we are sending out into the world young men and woman who will be the leaders of the next generation. What greater legacy could we ask for?

The Angel

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born.

The child asked God, “They tell me you are sending me to Earth, but how am I going to be able to live there being so small and helpless”?

God answered, “I chose an angel for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.”

“But here, in Heaven, all I ever do is sing and smile and laugh. That’s enough for me to be happy.”

“Your angel will sing for you and will smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel’s love and be happy.”

“And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don’t know the language that people speak?”

“Your angel will speak to you using the sweetest, most beautiful words you will ever hear; and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.”

“And what am I going to do when I want to talk to You?”

“Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.”

“I’ve heard that on Earth there are bad people. Who will protect me?”

“Your angel will defend you, even if it means risking her own life.”

“But I will be sad because I will not see You anymore.”

“Your angel will talk to you about Me, and will teach you the way for you to come back to Me, though I will always be beside you.”

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven. Voices from Earth could already be heard, and the child asked softly, “God, if I am about to leave now, would you please tell me my angel’s name?”

“Yes, my child. You will call your angel 'Mommy'.”

Oh thanks alot! Now I am crying again. :)

Thanks Z! :)

I miss my baby!

Thanks Zaphod for the good wishes. I have two teenage sons and hugs are sometimes hard to come by but today I did get one each as well as the gift of itunes for my ipod. Tomorrow - back to real life.

Zaphod-

Thank you for sharing and caring!!! I wish I could stop tearing up!

Happy Mother's Day to ALL!!!

I was thrilled with my present of a writing desk with notecards, pens, stickers, photopaper etc... so the letters to Jake will be non-stop.
There was also a lot of chocolate involved too.

Thanks Zaphod for the kind words...
