I too joined this discussion when my son was a sophomore. Good luck over the next two years. And Happy New Year to you.

nyparent,

Welcome to CC! Happy New Year to you and to all our fellow CC friends!

NYparent, I am not a parent, but still wish you, along w. all the kids/parents on this board a happy new year. And the next two years for you are gonna be CRAZY!

NYparent - Adding my welcome to you and Happy New Year wishes to all as well.

I too have a sophomore (and a college freshman), so I'll be here with you for a while. Best wishes to all.

Heh, my D is only a first-year...in college. And a Happy New Year to all who pass this way: the few, the proud, the obsessed.

My best of wishes to all of you, thinking of a Rolling Stone song:

"You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you get what you need."

I hope that you all get what you want and that it is exactly what you need.

Happy New Year to all! Am having a quiet evening with only the three "littles" at home and two of them have friends for sleepovers, a mini New Year's party for them. H is putting some Christmas gifts together. Mother in law is with us. We have the sparkling cider and champagne ready for midnight. Our prayers are with all of those affected by the terrible tsunami, and also for all of those who have room in their hearts for those less fortunate than they are. Here's to a wonderful 2005.

Happy New Year to all of you CC'ers! Still waiting for the new year here in CA, though I guess it already 2005 on the east coast. Yeah, just sitting here at the computer, wondering if I'll stay awake. Not too exciting, but we spent the day driving home from San Diego. We have some cheese and crackers and something to drink ready for our "party" at midnight. A "party" of two tired parents and five tired kids (though the little one just had a diet coke and is pretty jacked up). But all are here, safe and healthy. And my dad in San Diego is recovering from his recent surgery--so far doing okay. So we are blessed. Prayers to all who are going through tough times.Good luck to all of you who are waiting to hear from colleges. We are not in that position this year, but I remember S last year at this time still working on his essays . . . now he is a freshman, heading back to school on Sun, very content with where he ended up. It is so different from last year when we had no idea where he would end up, which colleges would accept him, etc. So glad that is over. Two years from now, if fortune smiles on us, we'll be going through it all again with one of the girls, currently a sophomore in high school.

Happy New Year everybody!

Happy new year to all! For me, it's truly a new year as today is my bday (it was also my parents' wedding anniversary). Having both kids at home with my H and me is a big enough present. Hope everyone's wishes come true in 2005.

Happy new years to all.

Happy birthday to you Little Mother
