<p>Happy Thanksgiving to All the Midshipmen and their families!!</p>
<p>For the first time since 1989 our oldest son is away from home for Thanksgiving, he is on the Maersk Kentucky somewhere in the Atlantic.</p>
<p>I want to give thanks to all the young men and women who are away from home serving their country or preparing to serve their country. May God Bless them and keep them safe.</p>
<p>Thank you for your post. My oldest son is also away for the first time, and should be somewhere in the Gulf of Aden today. My consolation is that he is probably having the time of his life, but I will be counting the days until he comes home.
God bless our men and women protecting us here and abroad, and spread the word to send something to the troops to make their holidays a little brighter!</p>
