Happy Thanksgiving!!!

To all my virtual friends in the internet world of the UMD CC forum...have a safe, happy and fulfilling Thanksgiving! I hope you have time to refresh, rest, enjoy and get ready for the last weeks of classes and finals. I am thankful for the knowledge and smiles you have given me over the last year! :D

Let me chime in with a hardy “Happy Thanksgiving” to all, as well. I pick up my kid tomorrow about this time for a few days of relaxation and family fun.

Me three!!! My 2 Terps are making the drive home on Wednesday–we are all sooooo excited! I have a list of requested favorite dishes to serve either on Thanksgiving, or through the rest of the weekend!!! I’m just looking forward to hanging out with them!

I’ll ring that bell!! DS is on his way to the airport now!! I haven’t seen him since August. I can’t wait!! I am making one of his favorite dishes for dinner tonight!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Astro, heads up, I picked up DS today at 3 and it took us 2 hours to go 48 miles, so it might be a long ride tomorrow.

Wishing all of you a very happy holiday.

Side note: 15 minutes after he walked in I was ready to send him back…it probably had a lot to do with the fact that he brought home every piece of laundry. 4 loads later, I am done!

Second side note: BRAGGING…DS was officially selected to Intern on the Hill next semester for a Senator!

For those who want govt and politics class of 14, UMDCP is the place to be.

AWESOME news about your son! He has got to be really proud of his accomplishments to have earned that! Let’s hope it solidifies his desire to STAY in govt and politics, hahaha!!! Congrats!!!

With so many internship possibilities so close, I maintain that UMDCP is the place to be for a whole bunch of areas! D1 enjoyed her stint as a TA this semester, but she decided she would rather return to NASA next semester. (and to think when we were in school we worked in the dish room at the dining center and typed papers for $$!!!)

Hope you all had a good time this weekend!

I can’t believe I’m going to my last Terps game as a student today.

Awwwww! Ha, I know that there are a lot of UMD students who have said that by sophomore year, regarding UMD football! :o

Look at it this way, it was the last time you had to sit there as a student and cringe as they lose!

DS was on pins an needles because they compete for it not only with UMD, but Georgetown (American too —but that’s not the same).

Bullet and DS just left to take him back, all clean clothes done, and enough food to last him 2 weeks, of course, he doesn’t care about the food, he cares more about the clean laundry and Dad slipping him the cash :)

Can’t believe in 2 weeks he’ll be back again, but this time for the looooooooooonnnngggg break!

It was a lot easier telling them goodbye, knowing I’d see them soon!!! fwiw, it took 7 hrs for them to get home(here) for Thanksgiving. It’s already been 9 hours back, but at least the gps shows that they’ll be there in 19 miles!!! I think they’ve had traffic from Richmond north. Totally expected, but I’m glad it’s them and not me!

Glad to hear everyone had a great holiday. We drove down to FL to visit the in-laws and DS flew down to meet us. He had by far the easier trip, bus to BWI, direct flight to Orlando. We spent Sunday night in a traffic jam on and off for three hours until we decided to get a hotel and make the trip back on Monday. But we had a great visit, relaxing, good food, two new babies to play with (my sisters-in-law both had babies this fall) and six family dogs to romp with! He’s ready for these last two weeks and then to come home for the long break, and I’m ready to have him. :D

Update note. those last 19 miles to CP took one hour  I got a text from D2…I never want to be in this car ever again. But, then the next day she told me how much she was looking forward to coming home again!
