Happy to answer q's/lend a helping hand, Class of '11 +

It appears College Board is the holdup on my D's application. I don't understand why it takes so long for the scores to be sent once they are ordered. If I can get a package in a few days, then 3-5 wks for the scores to be sent is just too long.

Don't feel too bad, cartera! Some scores that my daughter sent in AUGUST still have not arrived/been logged in at some of her schools.

Oh gee - that makes me feel worse. There are several schools that don't schedule auditions until the file is complete or she has been accepted. I thought she was taking care of things so early and that we would have all the auditions scheduled by now, but I never thought about the SAT scores taking so long. I advised that she wait until the apps were ready to send the scores so the scores didn't get there before the apps - now I know better.

What do you do if the SAT scores don't make it to the college? Anyone with experience with that? Out of 10 schools, only 1 has not received my son's scores--and they were ordered Sept. 4 and sent via the internet on Sept. 7. I feel certain there's a filing problem somewhere!

The processing date on College Board is the date they take your money I think. I don't think it has anything to do with when they are sent. I have checked with 3 schools and all of them have everything but the SAT scores. The processing date on CB is October 5 so it will be 3 weeks this Friday. I thought that might be the longest it would take but others are telling me it is taking 3-5 weeks.

As a caution about academic acceptance to Otterbein - we never had a chance to look into Otterbein for my son, but I always recommend it to others. The year he auditioned, everyone we knew and everyone we ran into at auditions had already been accepted academically with wonderful scholarship offers at Otterbein, early in the year. I think we knew 2 people who got accepted and went there, but we knew MANY who did not get in from the audition. Do not put too much faith in academic acceptance.

Even though I check this forum for info on Otterbein, m D is not interested in the MT major - she is vocal performance. I think the numbers are not quite as crazy for VP, but she knows that there is no way to predict anything when an audition is involved.
